Noémie Ducimetière is a singer, instrumentalist, composer and producer with a background in traditional music and almost a decade in music production for film and radio. Noémie releases her own music through a project called Noum which is currently in the process of making a debut album.Since her first soundtrack in 2016 Noémie's work has been recognised in over 40 film festivals, including IDFA, Karlovy Vary and the Zurich Film Festival, and has been produced by the likes of Falling Tree, NOWNESS, REAL STORIES, GREENPEACE, and BFI. As a singer she has performed in a myriad of settings from village squares to London's Royal Albert Hall, and is set to headline KOKO in 2025 with Idrîsî Ensemble.Idrîsî Ensemble has provided a rich avenue through which to explore and specialise in medieval and traditional music from Europe and the Mediterranean, such as chants and polyphonies from Troubadour, Trouvers, Old Roman, Corsican and Greek traditions. The Corsican-French composer and researcher who leads the ensemble, Thomas Fournil, became a sort of mentor figure to Noémie in 2017 for several years, teaching her to interpret medieval notation and to sing sacred music in Latin, Occitan and Corsican. Noémie has also received training from Palestinian-British oud player Kareem Samara, Algerian-French Old Roman chant expert Marcel Pérès of the Organum Ensemble and Greek modal teacher Evgenios Voulgaris.
